Fiddlers from all over Texas compete for the prestigious title of Texas State Champion Fiddler along with competition from fiddlers from all over the USA. The event offers the largest cash prizes of any fiddle contest in the United States.
The event starts on Friday with Cajun Fun Night featuring cajun entertainment along with crawfish seafood gumbo, red beans and rice and much more.
The Fiddle Competition begins in the morning and wrapping up around 6:00 pm
Taking the stage at night will be local artists Broken Alibi and Texas artist Wade Bowen.
Sunday the induction of a soon to be announced Fiddler in the Texas Fiddlers Hall of Fame.
The contest continues afterwards and wrapping up in the afternoon with the naming of the Texas State Champion Fiddler.
Outside on Saturday and Sunday will be barbecue cook-offs with over a hundred teams competing.
Sample meats from participating barbecue teams are available on Sunday.
Free outside entertainment both Saturday and Sunday.
